What is responsible gaming?
Responsible gaming means enjoying gaming with entertainment as the primary goal — never letting it interfere with other areas of your life. At Fincewin, we believe that playing within the right limits makes gaming one of the best sources of fun.
Many people assume that talking about responsible gaming is a way of discouraging play. It's actually the opposite. Fincewin wants you to enjoy the platform safely for years to come — and that's only possible when gaming stays within your control.
Keep in mind: Gaming is entertainment, not a source of income. Never bet money you can't afford to lose.
Recognise the warning signs
Gaming addiction doesn't always hit all at once. It can creep up gradually through changes we tend to overlook. Watch out for the following signs in yourself or someone close to you:
- Over budget: Spending more money than planned.
- Losing track of time: Hours can pass without you even noticing when you sit down to play.
- Pressure to chase losses: Chasing losses by placing bigger bets to win back what you've lost.
- Privacy: Hiding your gaming activity from family or friends.
- Loss of interest in other activities: Difficulty focusing on work, family, or studies.
- Borrowed money: Borrowing money or dipping into savings to fund gaming.
- Restlessness when you can't play: Feeling restless or irritable when not playing.
If you notice even one of the signs above, don't take it lightly. Reach out to the Fincewin Help Center or activate self-exclusion.
8 Tips for Playing Safely
Stick to these simple habits and gaming will always stay enjoyable:
- Set a budget: Decide how much you're willing to spend before you start playing — and stick to that limit.
- Set a time limit: Set a timer. Don't play for hours on end without a break.
- Bills & savings first: Only play with money left over after covering your essential expenses.
- Keep a clear head: Never place bets when you're angry, upset, or under the influence of alcohol.
- Accept losses as part of the game: Wins and losses are both part of the game. Rushing to chase your losses is a dangerous habit.
- Take a break: Take at least a few minutes' break every hour.
- Let your family know: Keep the people close to you informed about your gaming.
- Use the tools: There's no shame in using Fincewin's limit and cooling-off features — it's the smart thing to do.
